Richard turns pro

Former Kenya Boys champion, US-based Richard Ainley (pictured to the left), has turned professional following a sparkling collegiate golfing career.

A member of the Cajuns golf team whilst at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, he has been playing in the USA since he left Kenya..

Last year, he was the Arkansas State Intercollegiate Champion and won the Sun Belt conference tournament as well as being on the Sun Belt team.

An all rounder, Richard also played squash, cricket, field hockey and soccer for his high school before joining the junior college.

His statistics at the end of his college year were impressive with 39 rounds played and an average of 73.08 per round.

In the 1999-2000 season, Richard was ranked the top player in the Cajun squad by two shots.

During visits to Kenya, Richard also won several KGU titles and was ranked on the Order of Merit.
