Current
boys champion, Bhavnish Chandaria and girls champion,
Christina Andersen clinched the Junior Open Strokeplay
title respectively at the 36 hole tournament, sponsored
by K enya Postel Directories at Royal Nairobi in December
last year.
Bhavnish
snatched victory by one shot from Lee Njoroge and Wahome
Wambugu on the closing holes, with a level-par 72 gross.

After
the first round, Royal Nairobi’s Bunty Shah was one
over, 73 gross followed by Wahome Wambugu on 74 and
Lee Njoroge on 75 leaving Bhavnish trailing at 76.
The
tables turned in the afternoon, as Rachit Patel triedto
make a comeback with only the second level-par round
of the championships, Bunty Shah not being able to maintain
his earlier form.
Lee
Njoroge improved by one shot, with a 74 to take the
runner-up title on a countback from Wahome Wambugu,
who shot 75.

The
net winner for the 36 hole event was 15 year old Ngaruiya
Mungai of Railway with 136 nett (69,67), playing off handicap
25.
Christina Andersen, age 14 years, won the gross prize and
the girls title, with 97 and 95 (nett 76,74). She is pictured
above receiving her prize from the sponsor.
