Time to Enhance Momentum

Chairman’s Message

Earlier this year, the patron of JGF, Mr Naushad Merali (centre) and the trustees held a meeting to discuss the future of the foundation.

The momentum that we had built up last year seems to have slowed a little especially at the Club level.

I would like to take this opportunity to once again appeal to all the Club Junior Convenors to re-dedicate themselves and realize that they are the most important link in our programmes of developing Junior golf in this country.

Without the support at Club level all our efforts at the National level will not bear any fruit. A document has been prepared by the Trustees and circulated to all the Convenors.

This document gives guidelines on how to organize the Junior golf section at Club level and what is expected of the Juniors, the C onvenor and the Club. Please study this and at least use it as a starting point in the organization of the Junior section.

I would also like to take this opportunity to appeal for more life members in the JGF. The cost is still KShs.2,500/= and right now we only have 200 members.

It is one of the ways that we generate funds for the foundation and we would request a lot more golfers to support us by becoming life members.

With the re-dedication of the Convenors and a little more money from the life membership, we will no doubt enhance the waning momentum.
