Bhavnish plays in the Kenya Open

Kenya’s number one junior golfer, Bhavnish Chandaria had a unique opportunity to play in this year’s Sameer Kenya Open.

He also made history to be the first Junior Boys champion in recent years to play in the country’s prestigious golf championship, celebrating 35 years.

Bhavnish shots a total 158 (79,79) and although he did not make the cut, he enjoyed the experience of playing with the future golf stars.

The Kenya Open is part of the European Challenge Tour which is the breeding ground for future champions.

Mainly for golf professionals, the organisers allow a limited number of amateurs to play for the coveted Kenya Open Amateur champion trophy.

Famous golfers such as Ian Woosnam, Christy O’Connor Jnr, Vijay Singh and Thomas Bjorn have played at the Open.
