Handicap one golfer Rachit Patel, came back from defeat in the finals of the Junior Matchplay Championships in Sigona to win the 2001 Kiambu Junior Open sponsored by Spike Enterprises, on a score of 75 gross, 2 shots ahead of his Kenya team mate, Thika’s Njuguna Ngugi. The third winner was Imran Ahmed on 78 gross on countback from junior international Rizwan Charania. Eddie Njoroge is pictured presenting the trophy to Rachit.
