ESTABLISHMENT

There is hereby established a Foundation to be known as the Junior Golf Foundation.

The Junior Golf Foundation shall be registered under the Registration of Business Names Act, and the joint and equal proprietors shall be the Kenya Golf Union of P.O. Box 49609 Nairobi and the Kenya Ladies Golf of P.O. Box 45615 Nairobi.

TRUSTEES

The Kenya Golf Union and the Kenya Ladies Golf Union shall each appoint two Trustees to run the affairs of the Foundation.

The Trustees shall hold office for an indefinite term, and shall be answerable to and replaceable by their respective parent Unions.

The Trustees shall from amongst their number appoint a National Chairman of the Junior Golf Foundation.

The Trustees shall hold such meetings and co-opt such additional person as they see fit, and shall encourage the participation of Juniors themselves in sub-committees and general organisation.

The Trustees may draw up and devise such forms of Membership, Honorary Membership or other titles by which to recognise contributions to the Foundation as they shall think fit.

OBJECTS

The Foundation's principal objective shall be the promotion and development of golf for young amateurs up to the age of 18 years, the introduction of more young people to the sport and the development of their skills and enjoyment of the game.

In pursuit of these objects the Junior Golf Foundation's powers shall include but shall not be limited to the following:

Organising and sponsoring coaching schemes and competitions

Encouraging Member Clubs of the parent Unions

  • To establish active junior sections and junior memberships
  • To schedule and encourage junior tournaments and competitions at their own Clubs
  • To appoint junior Organisers and to encourage juniors to participate in the organisation of junior golf

Soliciting support and donations for the furtherance of the objects of the Foundation from

  • Individuals and corporate bodies
  • Member Clubs of the parent Unions
  • The R. & A. the Golf Foundation of the United Kingdom and similar organisations
  • Golf professionals and suppliers of golf equipment

Involving schools in recruitment and participation

Providing Juniors with opportunities to learn the Rules of Golf, etiquette and behaviour and to encourage integrity and respect for fellow competitors

Circulating literature, publicity, films and other visual aids

Developing a Junior Handicapping System and a Merit Award Scheme, and awarding certificates, vouchers for golf tuition and other Prizes and testimonials

Considering the provision of grants and golf scholarships or half- Scholarships.

JUNIOR GOLF FOUNDATION FUNDS AND BORROWING POWERS

The funds of the Foundation shall be used only in furtherance of the Objects of the Foundation.

The Foundation shall, subject to the prior approval of the parent Unions have power to borrow, raise money and give security for monies required for the furtherance of its objects.

The Trustees shall have power to open a bank account or accounts in Name of the Foundation, and may deposit or otherwise invest from Time to time any part of the Foundation's funds as are not Immediately required.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF the Chairman of the Kenya Golf Union and the Lady Chairman of the Kenya Ladies Golf Union have set their hands at this day of 1998.
