at the Kakamega Golf club are treated to a nine hole golf course with beautiful
wide fairways and Marabou storks that occasionally roam the course. The course
was laid-out in 1931, with an initial four holes. The greens and fairways were
all improved, and this brought a very impressive image of the golf course. The
longest hole is said to be the fourth which has a par of five for both men and
women, and plays 534 yards for men and 487 yards for women. The East versus the
West tournament is the club's annual event, that has been playing since 1945.
The club does not provide accommodation, but offers temporary membership for hotel
guests. Lessons are given by caddies at the members' request |
